Hey, I'm Jaryd.
This year I've shipped 4 apps, and I've made $0 from any of them.
The thing is, building has never been easier, it's the finding users and actually getting revenue that's now never been harder.
Yet, we still see people posting on social media with great MRR charts and these insane user growth curves thanks to incredible TikTok coverage, and it's easy to feel demotivated. This is not the norm though.
I've found myself pouring creative energy into my apps during the build part, then asking friends and family to try them, or posting on social a handful of times hoping to get users, perhaps the odd TikTok hoping for a viral spike. None of that has worked and that path from 0 to 100 is where so many apps die and we move to the next idea, hoping that will solve it.
Finding the first people who will actually open the thing, use it for a week, and tell you honestly what's broken is hard.
Sound familiar?
If that feeling resonates with you, hey!
You're not alone. I write a newsletter to over 40,000 builders and devs, and I know this problem is real. That's why I'm working on Hey100. It's a match-making app for builders/devs like you and me. You make a "dating profile" for your product. Add pics, answer prompts, make it yours. You swipe and say hey to apps that you'd genuinely use. When someone says hey back to yours, you match, and you trade: you use theirs, they use yours, and you both send feedback.
Every builder of an app is also a possible user of another app. Yes I make apps, but I'm also a product manager, business owner, guitar player and padel enthusiast.
Hey100 is invite-only to start. Small waves so the first people in actually find good matches. If you have a real product and you're stuck finding your first 100 users, I'd love to have you.
